Simple to Set Up. Serious Under the Hood.

Multi-region verification on every plan, smart notifications, fewer false positives, advanced configurations, and more.

  • Notifications

Advanced event-based notifications with escalation to minimize notification fatigue, and templates to make it easy.

  • Multi-Region Verification

Every plan checks from multiple US regions before alerting, so a single-region blip won’t wake you up at 3am. Paid plans choose which regions do the checking.

  • Domain Expiry Watch

We read your domain registration and warn you well before it lapses, so nobody else gets to buy it.

  • SSL & Certificate Monitoring

Track expiration dates and get alerts before certificates expire.

  • DNS Health Checks

Verify DNS records, nameservers, and propagation. Know immediately if your configuration breaks or changes.

  • Email Security Scanning

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC on your domain, checked and explained in plain English, so it is harder to send mail pretending to be you.

  • Endpoint Uptime Monitoring

HTTP endpoint monitoring with response time tracking. Get alerted the moment things go down, with fewer false positives.

  • Built for small teams

Indie devs, content creators, and freelancers will enjoy pricing that makes sense, no DevOps degree required. Set up in minutes, not hours.

  • Privacy First

We don't sell your data. No third-party trackers. Our revenue comes from subscriptions, not your information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Uptime monitoring means we check your website over and over again — every few minutes — to make sure it's working. We don't just check once from one place either — on every plan we re-check from other US regions before alerting, so we can tell the difference between "your site is actually down" and "one network hiccup in Virginia." We also look at the health of things like your SSL certificate, DNS records, and email settings to make sure everything is valid and working the way it should.

If your website goes down and nobody tells you, you could lose visitors, sales, or trust — and you might not find out until someone complains. We catch problems the moment they happen and alert you right away so you can fix things before most people even notice.

Anyone who runs a website, online store, blog, SaaS app, portfolio, or client site. If people visit it and you'd want to know when it breaks — this is for you.

Right now we support URL monitoring, SSL certificate checks, DNS health checks, WHOIS/domain expiration, email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), PING, and PORT.

It means you're not stuck with one-size-fits-all settings. You can customize how each monitor behaves with things like custom headers and request settings. On the notification side, you can set up event-based alerts that only fire when specific things happen, escalation chains that notify different people through different channels if a problem isn't resolved, and reusable templates we call recipes that make setting all of this up fast and easy. It's powerful stuff — but you only need to touch it if you want to.

Yes — and here is exactly what that means, because a vague answer is worth nothing. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest. Every query that reads your data is scoped to your account in our data layer, so nothing of yours is reachable from another account's session — that isolation is enforced in the application, not by database row-level security policies. Webhook URLs and the notification settings you save are stored in your account's records alongside everything else; we don't keep them in a separate encrypted vault, so treat a secret embedded in a webhook URL the way you would treat one anywhere else. Signing in gives you a session cookie — there are no API tokens to leak or rotate. We would rather tell you how it actually works than list acronyms.

We take this seriously, and that starts with being straight about what we do keep. We record the IP address and browser your account signs in and acts from, in our security and audit logs — that is how account access is traced and abuse is stopped — and those records are deleted after 90 days. What we never do is feed that into analytics: our usage measurement is first-party, runs on our own infrastructure, sets no cookie, and stores no IP address, no fingerprint, and nothing that outlives a single visit. No third-party trackers. We don't sell your data — ever. For billing we use Stripe, so we never see or store your card details. Our privacy policy lists everything we keep and for how long.

Because we think monitoring is overpriced and we built DownBad to prove it. We focus on practical features that people actually use, run well-orchestrated infrastructure that keeps our costs low, and skip the bloated enterprise extras that inflate everyone else's pricing. $50/year isn't a teaser — it's the real price, and you get everything.

It's a one-time $299 payment that gives you access to DownBad for life. We're offering it because multi-region infrastructure isn't cheap to get off the ground, and this helps us cover those early costs. In return, you get a seat at the table. We want your feedback, your feature requests, and your help shaping a product that actually works for you. It's a partnership as much as a purchase.

DownBad is running for a small group of invited testers while we make sure everything works the way this page says it does. You can run the free health check any time. Leave your email to join the waitlist, and we'll send you an invite as soon as a spot opens.
